Björn has won more awards for commercials than any other Icelandic director. He has also won the Edda Awards for drama and documentaries. His first feature; the thriller Cold Trail, premiered in Iceland in december 2006 and has been sold to many countries including Germany, Brazil and Japan.

Sveinbjörn is undoubtedly one of Iceland’s most experienced screenwriters. He has written film scripts for three Icelandic films two of which were thrillers. Sveinbjorn has also written novels, plays and poetry. He has also written drama for Icelandic television as well as the Danish TV series Taxa and Forsvar.
